Read how one of the new homeowners at 49 Bassett Road, our development in W10, added their own design flair and personality to the stylish interiors.

Bassett Road Luxury Apartments

There are many benefits to buying a new build home, the peace of mind that warranties bring, the knowledge that you won’t have to face large repair bills anytime soon, but aside from the financial reasons it is also a completely blank canvas, no one has ever lived there before you!

If you are an interior designer, like the latest resident to move in at 49 Bassett Road, our development in W10, it’s an ideal opportunity, (and easy!), to add your own personal touch and style enhancing the modern interiors to make it feel like home.

With now grown-up children, our buyer was looking to downsize from a large family home and find a spacious new build apartment in West London. 49 Bassett Road, a distinctive period building transformed into five luxury apartments on a quiet and tree-line road in W10, was the ideal fit.

Behind the restored Victorian façade, the interiors were designed to complement the traditional exterior and were of an exceptional standard throughout featuring high specification and luxurious contemporary spaces.

The layout and space of each apartment embodied the spirit of modern day living, while retaining traditional elements such as bay windows, high ceilings, panelled tall doors, vintage style entrance tiles and a communal staircase with wrought iron balustrades.

Exchanging on the 3-bedroom property in June 2022, but not completing until September, meant the new buyer were able to source all the interior design elements before moving in and also to decide what, if any, remodelling would be needed.

Six months on the apartment has been personalised into a beautiful and stylish home. Utilising the brilliant white walls as gallery spaces, beautiful artwork now adds colour and interest whilst new built-in shelving displays an array of stunning glassware collected over the years.

To add character, the original panelled white doors from the hall to the open plan living spaces have been changed to Crittall style double doors, the black contrasting neatly with the white walls, whilst a new seamless porcelain kitchen countertop with a brown and white pattern adds warmth and ties in with the buyer’s preferred colour palette.

By always investing in classic, timeless pieces our buyer was able to reuse many of their existing furniture pieces in the living room, simply resizing a glass table and re-upholstering sofas and chairs with new fabrics to pull the design scheme together.

The apartment originally came with LED feature and mood lighting to create ambience, and this has been enhanced further through additional floor and table lamps, black pendants over the kitchen island and a gorgeous gold light fitting over the dining room table.

To maximise space the new owner has designed and built several clever storage solutions ranging from a handy white storage cupboard in the dining area for dinnerware, under-stairs storage, making use of a previously empty space, and infilling wall recesses with shelving for files and books.

The already light and airy apartment has been enhanced beautifully by a good eye and some clever design tweaks, the new owner has really put their personal stamp on it and made the place feel like home.
